Flutter Fly

Day 5 in the 30 Day of Painting Challenge
This did not start out looking the way it does now. I wanted to learn different types of painting in acrylics. I like the background but I didn't like anything else about the painting I was doing, so I scraped the paint off started again and decided to do some stamping and embossing on the painted background. I wanted the background to show through the objects I choose. I am pleased with how it turned out.

A Day with the Sunflowers

September 2, 2014 Challenge

This is a mix media painting I started awhile back but was not happy with it. I thought I would
challenge myself today and finish it. Still not real happy with it, but I know with practice I will achieve the look that I want.

30 paintings in 30 days challenge

I am not sure how I found Leslie Saeta's blog but I am glad I did. I have excepted the challenge to do 30 paintings in 30 days. I use to paint a lot in oils and acrylics but have not done either one for awhile, so this is the perfect opportunity to get me motived to paint. I will start out doing acrylics. I don't really have a theme to go on but I am just going to see what each day will bring to the canvas.

I really enjoy making little art books and altering things

    A little meandering book
you can find the tutorial on them on Utube

I like to put little tags with either scripture or quotes

This little book is made out of paperclay and tea dyed paper

I glued pages together and on the right made a little window and added a charm

This is really a card but I turned it into an art card

To hold the card together it has a sleeve on it

All of it unfolds with different layers

Thought I would play catch up with everyone on what I have been doing over these past months. I haven't posted any of my art for a few months. I am involved in some art groups on Facebook and that is where a lot of my time and sharing has been going.
I am going to be sharing with you some art journaling pages that I have created using prompts from a group I was involved in Art Journaling 101 in Swap-bot. I wanted to try it but I found out it is just not my thing, it was fun but not for me.

    Memory Boxes

My sister in Law wanted me to make special little books
for 3 girls and 2 boys.
I made memory boxes for them

I call these my Blessing Dolls.
They have charms, little photo frames, beads.

These little books are called squash books

With each letter of their name is a meaning.
She also gave me some personality traits and what they like.
    The Front

    The Back

All the treasures goes into the memory box.
They can add new treasures for keepsakes.
